THE DRA THALGYUR TRANSLATION PROJECT OF THE SHANG SHUNG INSTITUTE AUSTRIA

 

From May 8th - 10th 2015 Chögyal Namkhai Norbu has offered a unique possibility for His students all over the world by giving the Lung/Reading Transmission of the Dra Thalgyur, the root Upadesha tantra of the Dzogchen Teachings.
 
Now it is important that we are going ahead with the translation of the Root text.
This translation will be done by a very experienced small group of translators who have a precise knowledge of Dzogchen.
It is not enough the make only a translation of the words of the text, but important is the meaning - the translation MUST 100% correspond with the Root text.

Chögyal Namkhai Norbu has decided, that the three main translators of the International Dzogchen-Community, Adriano Clemente, Elio Guarisco and Jim Valby, will work on the translation of this unique tantra into English.
 
We already have this group of translators and we also have worked together on translations f.e.on the Mejung Tantra. I also worked with them and after some years of hard work we finally published the translation of that tantra.
For the translation of the Dra Thalgyur tantra we will do in the same way.
In that way it will the guaranteed, that the translation will totally correct and corresponding with the original text.

This translation-project is a new initiative of the Ka-Ter Translation Project of the Shang Shung Institute Austria and it will take about one year to complete the translation.
